Buried Alive: BEO FAOIN bhFÓD !

genres:

In 1968, Mick Meaney was buried six feet beneath the London soil in a simple wooden coffin as hundreds gathered to watch and raise a glass - despite the fact that Mick was very much alive. Beo Faoin bhFód tells the extraordinary story of Meaney’s world-record attempt for the longest time spent buried alive, placing his feat within a wider, stranger tradition of endurance spectacles pursued in the name of fame. Through previously unseen archival material, animation, and interviews with those who knew him best, the film reconstructs Mick’s astonishing ordeal while reflecting on the personal cost of notoriety, and the depths to which people will go to be remembered.
