U.S. Premiers
Sam Uhlemann’s family drama The Edge of Darkness, Phil Sheerin’s psychological triller The Winter Lake, the docu-drama Violet Gibson -The Irish Woman Who Shot Mussolini directed by Barrie Dowdall and Kevin de la Isla O’Neill, the Liam Neeson narrated documentary The Hunger directed by Ruan Magan, and Gillian Marsh and Gretta Ohle’s documentary Tomorrow is Saturday.
Short Film Competition
As one the longest running competitive festivals for Irish short film in the US our audiences will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite short from over 60+ films presented in five shorts programs and two partnership programs.
Partnership Programs
The Chicago Irish Film Festival has partnered with Dublin Animation Film Festival to present a special program for children 8 and up; the Green Ray Agency—Cork will present films from their catalog; and Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival presents Playback X DIFF: Irish Hip Hop + R&B.
